Client Website: Winks Home Garden and Gifts

Winks Home Garden and Gifts is a fabulous gift shop in Chilliwack, BC.

Owner Wendy is a savvy business woman with great ideas and over the past two years since Winks opened its doors, she has been spending more time online.

The existing Winks website was beautifully designed but lacked functionality. There was no CMS on the site, so the website designer was the only one who could make updates. Sound familiar to some of you? It’s a pain, isn’t it? Continue reading

Client Website: Into Chocolate

This was one of the most fun projects we have worked on in a while. And when I say fun, I mean tasty. Just look at that fudge!

Into Chocolate Candy & Confections is a specialty sweets store located in Fort Langley, BC. They carry nostalgic candy, imported chocolate, decadent fudge and just about any kind of confection your heart can desire. It has long been one of my favourite local places to visit for gifts, or just to pick up something sweet for myself!

Their online presence was lacking and the existing site had tons of great information, but the design didn’t capture the nostalgic, traditional candy shoppe feel that they were seeking. We were thrilled to take on this exciting project!

Client Website Launch: OttawaMortgage.com

Seeing swift results in the search engines, our clients at AlgomaMortgage.com decided to redo their Ottawa area website sooner than later. Using the same custom template as the Algoma site, we created a simple, bright and informative website. It was created in WordPress, allowing the client to update their rate information as often as required.

This Ottawa mortgage brokerage is one of the most successful brokers in their region, and now they have a fresh new website to convey that message! Continue reading

Algoma Mortgage Website Redesign

Together with my design partner, Tanya Beaudoin, I have been working onĀ www.algomamortgage.com.

This client came to us with a website that was functioning ‘just fine’, but was in need of a facelift. The most important thing to the client was the ability to manage their own content and to have it easily integrated with their social media networks. WordPress, the format we prefer to work on, is an excellent content management system and a perfect fit for this type of request! Continue reading

Twestival Fraser Valley

Through Fraser Valley Pulse, I have been able to further connect with the community I live and work in. Any opportunity I have to give back, I embrace with open arms.

In 2010 I attended Twestival Vancouver hosted by Rebecca of Miss604.com. It was a fantastic fundraiser. Tons of fun, lots of money raised. While I was thinking of attending Twestival Vancouver 2011, I decided that the Fraser Valley was a big enough region that we should have our own. It was also the 2nd anniversary of Fraser Valley Pulse and it was time party!! So, I signed us up, invited Caree Bray and Teri Conrad to join me in the planning, and Twestival Fraser Valley hosted our inaugural event at Coast Hotel & Convention Centre in Langley. AMSSA Vancouver Diversity Health Fair

In late 2010 I was approached and invited to take on communications and promotions for AMSSA’s 2011 Vancouver Diversity Health Fair. Immediately the integrity of this client, AMSSA, and the details of the project caught my attention so I signed on with enthusiasm!

The AMSSA Vancouver Diversity Health Fair will be held at the Croatian Cultural Centre on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Continue reading

It’s a new year, a new chapter as I am well into Double You’s 7th year of business.

As part of this new beginning Double You has a new look, a new service menu and a blog! Over the past 2 years I have commited 100% of my blogging energy to FraserValleyPulse.com, which has been tremendous, but hasn’t really updated my clients and followers as to what I’m up to with Double You. This blog will be updated regularly with my current projects, articles, random thoughts, helpful tips and more. I hope you will follow along! Continue reading
